Starting at Central Park: Bethesda Fountain and Bow Bridge

Our session began at the iconic Bethesda Fountain in Central Park. As one of the largest and most well-known fountains in the world, Bethesda Fountain stands as a majestic centerpiece of the Bethesda Terrace. Measuring twenty-six feet high by ninety-six feet wide, this neoclassical sculpture, also known as Angel of the Waters, is a sight to behold. The bronze angel, standing eight feet tall, holds a lily in one hand while the other remains outstretched, symbolizing a blessing of health, purity, temperance, and peace. This statue commemorates the 1842 opening of the Croton Aqueduct, which brought fresh water to New York City.

Next, we moved to the picturesque Bow Bridge, a cast iron bridge crossing over the Lake in Central Park. Its interlocking circles banister and decorative bas-relief panels adorned with eight planting urns add to its charm. The Bow Bridge is a beloved pedestrian walkway, offering stunning views and a romantic ambiance that perfectly suited Scott and Alyssa's engagement photos.
